Many Thanks

Here is another version of the same card.  The base of the card (which you can't see unless you open the card) is Whisper White. I added a piece of Twitterpated DSP to the bottom of the card. The top portion of the card is textured white card stock. I used the Edgelit die and the Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on the bottom edge. I added a piece of Island Indigo below that making the identical edge.  Then I stamped an image from the Bordering on Romance stamp set in Basic Gray ink.  I watercolored some Blushing Bride on the flowers and while they were still wet I added a bit of Riding Hood Red near the centers of the flowers. The leaves were colored with Lucky Limeade and the small flowers with Island Indigo. The centers of the flowers are Crushed Curry with a few dots of black made with a black marker. I don't know if you can see that in the picture.  The sentiment from Petite Pairs was stamped in Basic Gray (with an unfortunate little bloop off to the side).  I think that's it :-)

Happy Birthday Mike!

This card is for a friend at church. His daughter is having all his friends bombard him with birthday cards. This is an example of how many ways you can mess up a card.  I spent the longest time coming up with a layout, moving things around, changing colors, recutting and on and on.  I finally thought I had my design and so I glued on the letters for mike.  When I laid it down on my card I realized that I had glued the letters along the wrong side of the paper so now my whole design is up in smoke. OK, new plan.  Now I'm down to the sentiment and the stamp has the words one on top of the other instead of side by side. Out comes my stamp-a-majig and a Not Quite Navy marker. After making the flag I decided it wasn't quite right. I thought it needed a brad so I stamped it again and assembled everything. OK, I think it came together. Flash forward to taking a picture of the card to post here.  I'm fiddling with the color and fiddling and fiddling and the sentiment just looks all washed out.  So I look at the card and realized that when I stamped it the second time I grabbed a black marker sitting on my table instead of the NQN marker. Oh, well. Enough is enough.  Here is the card.

Supplies Stampin'Up (except for the brad):
Stamps: Apothecary Art, On Your Birthday, Kindness Matters
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Not Quite Navy, Going Gray (ret), Basic Gray, White & Nautical Expedition DSP (ret)
Ink: Black (but imagine the sentiment in NQN)
Accessories: black brad
Tools: Labels Collection Framelits, Timeless Type Alphabet Junior Sizzlets, dimensionals

FMS25

Finally some time to stamp.  Here's a card that I made for Freshly Made Sketches this week.

The base is Pool Party. The striped DSP is Everyday Enchantment - an SAB selection.  I used markers on a stamp from Fresh Vintage - another SAB set - and then ran it through my Cuttlebug using Textured Impressions Designer Frames embossing folder.  I added some Lucky Limeade behind and wrapped it with Calypso Coral ruffled ribbon.  The "For You" stamp is part of one of the Apothecary Art stamps which I punched out with a 1" circle punch and then popped up on dimensionals.

Stamps: Fresh Vintage, Apothecary Art
Paper: Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral, Very Vanilla, Everyday Enchantment DSP (SAB)
Ink: Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral
Accessories: Calypso Coral ruffled ribbon
Tools: Textured Impressions Designer Frames embossing folder,  circle punches, dimensionals
